The Top 4 Things to do in Baltimore
Baltimore is an exciting city with plenty to offer. As a local, I'm constantly amazed by all the activities available. If you're interested in a day of art, food, and entertainment, then keep reading!
1. Visit the Baltimore Museum of Art
Spend an evening exploring the Baltimore Museum of Art. This Museum has something for everybody, from ancient artifacts, to contemporary paintings and modern art created by Baltimore's very own. It’s a great place to get inspired by a wide array of artists and learn the history behind the art. The museum continues to update their exhibitions ensuring there is always something new to keep guests immersed. General admission is free and all ages are welcomed.
2. Grab a bite at the Lost in the 50’s Diner
Grab a bite to eat at the iconic Lost in the 50’s Diner. This minority owned restaurant is a staple for many locals and beloved by its community. You can expect to enjoy delicious American classics while dining in a retro booth that really makes it feel like you’ve turned back time and gone to the 50’s. The staff is friendly and makes all who come feel welcomed. If you’re looking for a savory bite and nostalgic atmosphere, this is the place to be.
3. Take a stroll on the Avenue in Hampden
The Avenue in Hampden is a long strip of boutiques, restaurants and bars. If you are a vintage lover you’ll spend hours searching through each unique shop and their antique goodies. There is a strong sense of community due to it largely being small and/ or minority business owners. There’s no shortage of things to do here. While you’re there, take a quick walk to the MDSPCA and have a look at the adoptable cuties.
4. See a movie at the Senator Theatre
An art deco movie theatre that will captivate you from the moment you approach it. This theatre first opened in 1939 and serves as a historical landmark in the community. The architecture is truly astounding and it makes you appreciate all of the details they’ve preserved. If you are able to catch a film in the main theatre, be prepared to be fully immersed by the sheer size and opulence. This theatre puts the charm in charm city.
